Quick and Easy Caramel Custard Recipe

📌 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of milk (500ml), brought to a boil

  • 1/3 cup of sugar (60g), caramelized over medium heat without stirring

  • 2 medium eggs

Optional:

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • Chopped nuts or caramel sauce for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Bring 2 cups of milk to a boil. In a separate saucepan, caramelize 1/3 cup of sugar over medium heat without stirring. Gradually add the boiled milk to the caramelized sugar over low heat, stirring until the caramel dissolves again. Set aside.

  2. In a bowl, crack 2 medium eggs and whisk. Optional: Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

  3. Gradually add the caramel mixture to the beaten eggs, stirring quickly to prevent cooking the eggs. Strain the mixture.

  4. Pour the mixture into individual serving glasses and cover with foil.

  5. Place the glasses in a pan and pour hot water (beside the glasses) into the pan. Cover and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.

  6. Chill the custards in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours before serving.

  7. After two hours, uncover the glasses. Optional: Add chopped nuts.

  8. Ready to enjoy! 🎉
